This was my first foray into comic book style storytelling and also the zombie genre and i think it shows. It gave me the bug though (for graphic novels/comic books not zombieism) so without it a lot of the stuff on this site, and the site itself, would probably not exist, (I'll leave you to decide whether or not that is a good thing).
Orkney Bonegrind was the result of an actual trip to Orkney way back in the summer of 2010 for A-level archaeology. I must stress this was not my idea, I can't remeber who had the initial idea but we all pitched in. The title was thought up by Jesse for which I am very grateful because I'm crap at thinking them up. All 10 of us and our teacher, who went on the trip, feature in the tale as well as a some of the people and sites we visited, apologies for in-jokes.
As a location Orkney is perfect for a horror story. THe barren landscape of bog and rock, the changeable weather (foggy one minute sunny the next followed by a rainstorm followed by more bloody fog) and the isolated rural-ness. Add to this the vast number of strange and mysterious ancient sites such as the Ring of Brodgar, Brough of Birsay and the numerous burial mounds and barrows.

I've been thinking of re-doing this one actually. Firstly I think the story and the drawings need some patching up and also I don't think I made the most of the possibilities in such a scenario.
