Medieval Zombie Rampage
This is an idea to take the whole zombie-end-of-the-world package and drop it into medieval Europe. would people at the time have been able to cope any better than people today?
The shit really hit the fan in Europe during the 1300's. It is difficult to fathom how horrific (at times) this century was, there is not really anything like it in the modern world. Wars, famines and plague all reared their heads and ran riot. Ah, I hear you say, millions of people still suffer from these problems today. Unfortunately That is true and it is generally the poorest who suffer. In the 1300's however every band of society from King to cow-herder, peasant to Priest wasaffected, in particular by the black death. For example in France in the late 1340's the nobles and commoners alike were being slaughtered on battlefields while peasants were starving after a string of famines and the ravages of English marauders. On top of this the black death barges in, killing a third (maybe even half) of the population seemingly indiscriminate of rank, status or piety.
At times it must have seemed like the world was ending. Coincidentally the christian beleifs of the time prophesised that on Judgement day (the End of the World) the dead would be raised. What if that had come true?
I've not got a certain idea of plot-line but probably involving people from different areas of society during the hundred years war. Thus far I think it'll start off with a 'peasant' family being split up over the war (husband or father being taken away for the army). Eventually for some reason (village is raided/destroyed, trouble with local lord?)the rest of the family up-sticks either to find somewhere new or find the bloke in the army. They meet all sorts of people along the way (see the slideshow above)though at some point the "Black Death" strikes and the Zombies are unleashed!!!
